Perhaps the required PHP Events did not exist either.actually tried to convert my logging mod to an extension
I encountered that when I tried to port a small modification of mine into an extension, and I found that I lack the skills to create/propose new events or hook into them.
The irony is that actual extension developer told me I had already done most of the needed work, lol. Yep, but in the end of the day, I lacked the skills to get it working.
